Great quality, runs big
I bought this for my nearly 6 month-old who weighs 17 lbs. I love it! The quality is fantastic! If you've never had a Halo brand sleepsack, they are the best. My son wears this sleepsack to bed instead of blankets, so there is no chance of suffocation. It's super soft and cozy warm. The zipper starts at the top and zips down toward the feet, so the zipper doesn't bother the child's chin/neck. Just note that it runs a little big: Most of the pajamas my son wears are 6-9 months, and fit well. I ordered 6-9 mo in this sleeper/sleepsack, and it is pretty big. I'm keeping it though, because better too big than too small for this kid's rate of growth!

As far as the sizing information, I find the length to be more appropriate than the weight on this item. Our baby is long and lean, and she does not fit in the small size anymore (up to 18 lbs - she only weighs 15 Lbs). I would say the small size fits up to 26 inches long (regardless of weight), then it's time to move to the medium size (which would seem to fit a baby up to 30 inches long).

better for cooler/cold weather
This wearable blanket is easy to get the baby in and out of, great for diaper changes, and washes great. It is warmer than a cotton wearable blanket, so may be more appropriate for the colder temps; can't tell if the "breathable body" works?

I gave 4 stars because I felt like the outside of the blanket is a little rough on my skin as I hold my wiggly daughter. Also, it is bulky.

The best fabric for these sacks, could be better.
My friend had several of the fleece sacks for her son (3 months older than my son) and I always felt they were VERY scratchy both inside and out and did not seem to wear very well through multiple washings. We borrowed one for a nap at her house and my son woke up sweaty wet because the fleece was just not breathable enough. Since he was just transitioning from being swaddled to needing a sack, I bought the velboa one instead and I feel it has been much better, but it still has some flaws.

Pros:
-Seems to be more breathable than fleece
-outside is still super soft after many months of washing/wearing
-doesn't seem as cheap

Cons:
-inside is pilled up just like the fleece one (reason for 3 stars out of 5)

I wish that Halo Innovations would come out with some other fabric options (cotton sweater knit, quilted flannel, nicer fleece) and better color choices because they have a good product, it's just not GREAT!

My son is 6 months old so he moves a lot in his sleep and this stays on him and continues to keep him warm throughout the night. I accidentally ordered two of these, and when I opened it was going to keep both because it was so soft and plush. But when I tried to put my son in it while he was sleeping by zipping down from under both arms and unsnapping on both shoulders as shown on the tag and info online, I found that the left side zipper is placed so that the end of the zipper with the stop is at the top, so it doesn't actually open at the top. After some fiddling around I found that if I unzip the right side far enough around I can put him in it, but it is a bit more awkward than advertised. Also just in principle I don't like being deceived by product makers even if I can find a work around. I'm keeping one because it's still more convenient that no shoulder openings or side zippers, and I anticipate the bottom opening feature being useful at some point, but will return the other one and deduct two stars from what would otherwise be a four-star review (not five for zipper size and shedding issues...

It's ok! Zipper is not easy.
I bought this sleepsack b/c I like the basic concept but the zipper is awful to try to maneuver in the dark. A lot of times my daughter is hot at bedtime so I just place her on the sleepsack til later when she's cold and then I have to try to do the zipper up when she's sleeping with the zipper right under her chin. I have tried and prefer the PleaseMum brand from Vancouver, Canada. Super soft material and a two-way zipper that starts at the bottom, much easier for night time use. The halo sleepsack is great if you're just going to put it on before the baby is asleep. But as another mom mentioned, it's not near as soft as I expected the organic cotton to be.
