Great swaddle, but face is still scratched up.
My husband and I were totally excited about the Woombie and have used it for over 2 weeks now. We loved the idea that our son would be swaddled and we wouldn't have to worry about a receiving blanket coming loose and possibly covering his face (which was what he was doing a lot and we were constantly getting up in the middle of the night to check on him). He didn't sleep longer than he normally did, but then again we bought it more for a peace of mind than for a longer sleep cycle.
However, two days ago we started noticing scratches on his face, more towards the bottom of his chin. We woke up to blood all over the top of the velcro tab and saw that he was scratched up pretty good. I was puzzled and thought maybe he was getting his hand out somehow to scratch himself. product descriptions
Description : Cocoon swaddling with the Woombie is different from other swaddling methods and garments because it is made of a unique 4way stretch fabric which gently swaddles, snuggles and softly compresses the baby to mimic the womb, quickly re-conforming after baby finishes stretching arms and legs. The Woombie does not unravel as other methods do because of its flexible 4way stretch fabric and easy in/out zipper. This helps maintain the comfort levels of both baby and parent, easing undue stress and promoting a more peaceful environment, which is greatly needed and appreciated during the first few months of life during transition from the womb.
